BEST BRUNCH SPOTS IN BERLIN

When you think of the typical breakfast in a European country, you think cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs - not in Berlin. The first meal of the day is the most important for Berliners and I think that's partly the reason why I loved the place so much. Most places to eat are super laid back, casual, healthy and relatively low priced. For me, the power of Instagram is a vital tool for when I want to discover the best eateries and cocktail bars in new cities. It's also where I found every single restaurant on this list.

Having visited Berlin twice this year, I have only managed to check out 3 of the 5 in this list, but I guess that just gives me another excuse to go back there. In Berlin, breakfast begins quite early on and it's important to be first in line to bag yourself the best table, especially on weekends. No matter your taste or preference, there's options for everyone.

1. SUPERFOODS & ORGANIC LIQUIDS | @superfoodsberlin
If you follow me on Instagram then you're already probably well aware of my obsession with this place. It's so good that I've been three times during both trips. Featuring both breakfast and lunch options the food selection is amazing, the staff are super friendly and the decor and lighting in this place gives you that perfectly Instagrammable shot (think marble tables and bright white neon lighting!). Every single item on their menu is also available for take out too - but word of warning... the vegan waffles are only available Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

2. COMMONGROUND | @commonground.bln
Right in the heart of Berlin close to Alexanderplatz, lies Commonground. A hip, wood interior cafe which is rather large on the scale and where you'll often find a flock of people glued to their Macbooks. It attracts a great crowd and the staff are very attentive - I'm talking sitting down with you at your table and taking your order friendly type. I personally liked that you have fresh naturally flavoured water brought to your table at no extra cost! Dine here and you'll expect to sample great coffee, avo toast, buddah bowls and the best poached eggs.

3. SILO COFFEE | @silocoffee
Silo is almost a replica venue of Commonground.. in fact they're actually a franchise. Located on the opposite side of Berlin you will find the quieter and more quaint, Silo. With an almost identical menu to CG, I would say it has the best selection of coffee Berlin has to offer BUT,  avoid visiting these two spots if you're only in Berlin for a quick trip. Silo is rather closely located to East Side Gallery, so if you are around that area or if it's dependent on your location at the time its great to have both as options!

4. FACTORY GIRL BERLIN | @factorygirlberlin
Just the coolest place with a unique concept, which I unfortunately haven't had the pleasure of visiting is Factory Girl. Sharing your first meal of the day surrounded by good people in a communal more intimate area is one of a kind. When you're getting served brunch on a wooden board with the most amazing fruit art in your drink, who can complain? I would definitely opt for this place if you've rolled out of bed late and fancy a lazy late breakfast/lunch, the meat a cheese boards look insane.

5. MY GOODNESS | @mygoodnessberlin
Just a metro stop away from Alexanderplatz and Rosenthaler Platz you will find My Goodness. Similar to Superfoods & Organic Liquids, this acai bowl frenzy cafe devotes itself to helping feeling better and living well through their healthy and completely organic menu. If you are looking for some serious breakfast inspo, check out their insta. The protein balls and salad bowls are a complete winner for lunch too and perfect if you're on the go (they have the cutest take away pots!).

I hope I've gave you a bit of an insight into the wonderful eateries that Berlin has to offer to feed all your brunch cravings. Feel free to search each place with the Instagram handle so you can see hat tickles your fancy on their menus. If you're in Berlin or planning a trip there, you'd be silly to miss out on what each place has to offer!
