50 THINGS I'M THANKFUL FOR

It always gets to this time of year - after a few too many gins' - and everyone turns slightly sentimental and reflects on the year gone by. This year has absolutely flown by and a lot has happened in 2017, both good and bad. More personal posts like these were some of my favourite to write, and have proven to be the most popular among readers - so I thought, what better way to end 2017 on a positive note than to list 50 of the things I'm most thankful for.

THE BEST PLACES TO VISIT DURING WINTER

With summer well and truly over and the festivities about to kick in, it's time to start thinking about those destinations perfect for visiting when its a little chillier. Most people say holidays are made for the summer time - but seriously, how wrong are they? Some of my most favourite and memorable breaks have been during the winter months. There is just nothing better than getting tonnes of layers on, grabbing a hot drink and exploring a new place in the snow. Not to mention, its also considered low-season for most cities so it'll be a lot lighter on your pocket.

LOOK-BACK | MY NOVEMBER IN PHOTOS

Since having just over 3 months away from blogging, this feature was one that I was most looking forward to bringing back. Beside my love of posting over on Instagram, I like to feature unseen snippets at the end of every month which I purposefully leave for this particular type of post.

BEST BRUNCH SPOTS IN BERLIN

When you think of the typical breakfast in a European country, you think cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs - not in Berlin. The first meal of the day is the most important for Berliners and I think that's partly the reason why I loved the place so much. Most places to eat are super laid back, casual, healthy and relatively low priced. For me, the power of Instagram is a vital tool for when I want to discover the best eateries and cocktail bars in new cities. It's also where I found every single restaurant on this list.

CHOCOLATE CHIP & CLEMENTINE CHRISTMAS COOKIE RECIPE

Tis the season! Am I allowed to say that yet? It’s mid November and I spent my Saturday baking Christmas cookies and watching The Polar Express with my brother, am I ok? This week I’ve officially began getting giddy for Christmas so I’m bringing you a festive inspired cookie recipe, but it’s a little bit naughtier than the usual raw recipes I feature on here. Guilty.

WHY I LOVE TO TRAVEL

Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to visit new places - well, doesn't everyone? The travel bug hit me hard, and I was lucky enough to visit nice places quite early on into my childhood. Of course as you get older, you seem to care a lot more about actually 'experiencing' different things and cultures rather than just jumping into a pool on a lilo (although that's still a lot of fun). I'm definitely a lover of luxury, but I can completely slum it if it means getting to experience and see new, untouched places.

LOOK-BACK | MY JULY IN PHOTOS

I can't quite believe it's August tomorrow! Where has the month gone, in fact where has 2017 gone? July has been the best one yet, filled with celebrations, events, birthdays, drinking, spending and all of it in between. It started off well with a day trip to London for a blog event which was quickly followed by my 22nd birthday - that I obviously spent 4 days celebrating. I was treat to a holiday to Ibiza, a new Sony camera, flowers, make up, chocolate and so on and it was one of the best birthdays I've had.

HOW TO | MAKE YOUR BLOG MORE PROFESSIONAL

I'm back at it again with another 'how to', and this one is probably up there with my favs. Mainly because it's down to the creativity and style of your blog and that's really what I'm all about. With a slight OCD about me, I am a perfectionist when it comes to most things - especially when putting my own content online.

25 BEFORE 25 | MY QUARTER CENTURY BUCKET LIST

The title of this may throw you off - wait, what, she's nearly 25? Well, not exactly with this baby face but since my birthdays recently just been and gone I'm now technically only 3 years off, so I thought I'd get stuck into making my goals/bucket list.

#BLOGGERSSUITE EVENT, LONDON | SAT 1ST JULY

It's been a long time coming but I finally got round to attending my first ever blogger event. With a busy work life and living near Manchester, venturing to London can be quite a mission for me, especially when relying on the trains and having no clue on how to navigate the tube (I'm a pro now FYI). I've been so excited for July to hit in general. It's my favourite month of the year - hazard a guess as to why? - and it always begins to feel like the start of summer, so I was really up for getting this month off to a good start.

LOOK-BACK | MY JUNE IN PHOTOS

I'm officially half way through the year of my look-back - my month in photos series, and it's one I've enjoyed doing once the last weekend of the month hits. June has been yet another busy time for me, I don't ever seem to stop. The hours at work has increased, however I made sure that I had booked a few days off for some down time.

SPICED ROAST CHICKEN, BUTTERNUT & GRAINS RECIPE

It seems like forever since I had the time to cook up something that was worthy enough to put into my tid raw way series. Life has been super hectic lately, and having the time to rustle up something good enough to photograph has proven quite difficult these past few weeks. I have given intricate recipes the back-foot by bringing you something that ties in with a busy work-life, like mine, but doesn't take too long - it's obviously full of goodness too.

HOW BLOGGING HELPED ME OVERCOME SELF-DOUBT

Blogging has been a pretty amazing part of my life so far, maybe even the most life altering aspect. Even on a personal level, having a blog has helped me overcome a hell of a lot of doubt and reservations I used to have of myself - and now this post has turned all sentimental. It may sound a bit strange to you, and I know there must be a fair few 'curious' people reading this that think why? - like whats the point in having a blog? Well, there is no real answer to that. People blog for all kinds of different reasons whether its personal or professional - to make money, for fun, for therapy and so on.

THE BRUSSELS TRAVELOGUE | INC EXCLUSIVE PROMO*

If you weren't already aware, I have just returned from a 4 day trip from Belgium visiting the capital city, Brussels. Now, considering I am an avid city-break goer, Brussels well... it was a weird one, and that's the first time I've ever said that about a trip. The vibe was weird, the people were pretty rude and there wasn't much to see or do. Although, it always comes down to the company we still had an amazing time. I guess it is always nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day work life, but I don't think I will be visiting again.

6 TIPS TO QUIT NEGATIVE THINKING

Put your hand up if you always automatically think the worst, set yourself up to fail in things new to you or even make up scenarios which 9 times out of 10 will never happen *raises hand*. Thinking negatively has grown accustomed to our perspective and way of life. Our natural, human instinct is to over-analyse, over-think and speculate each and every bad situation we're crossed with and really, it's quite a sad thing.

LOOK-BACK | MY MAY IN PHOTOS

I feel every time I sit down to add this series to my blog, the months get more hectic and fun filled as the year goes by. We're now nearing the end of May - which I can't quite believe - so I thought this would be a good time to reflect and fill you in on life lately. I've began working overtime every week at work yet I'm still getting a good social life and cramming yet another little trip away in there too.

HOW TO | COMBAT BAD EATING HABITS

If you're aware of my recipes, then you'll know that I like to keep the vast majority of what I eat and cook healthy, wholesome and filling. Like anyone, I love a good takeaway, I almost definitely go to grab too many roasties on a Sunday and I could easily finish off a packet of biscuits if I was set to the challenge. But, it's definitely not something I would class as the norm in my lifestyle. To keep in shape, I have made gradual changes to certain bad eating habits that I used to have and it has honestly changed my outlook and quality of life as well as my view on food and nutrition.

MOVING HOUSE #2 | ONE WEEK PROGRESS

You may or may not have noticed my lack of posts over these past few weeks, but prior to that, I seemed to have a lot more free time on my hands in comparison to now - and that's okay. I've been solely preoccupied with moving house, a new job role and some well needed DIY on my new room. For the last installment of my moving house sequence, I discussed interior hopes, floor plans and old room vs. new. This week, I'm going to talk you through what I've managed to get done in my room so far - and it's honestly a complete transformation.

HOW TO | POACH THE PERFECT EGG

Scrambled, fried or poached? It's a no-brainer for me, I'm getting poached every time. Though, do you ever find when you opt for poached at home, they end up looking a million miles away from the insta worthy restaurant standard perfectly rounded ones?! Because, same. That is until I found a way of getting them perfect every time - well, the majority of the time.

MISTAKES WE MAKE TO LOSE WEIGHT

More times than not, I’m sure you’ve felt slightly podgy or rounder than usual – am I wrong? Too often when we try to do something about it the same mistakes are made again and again. Once we come to the realisation that there is no quick fix to losing weight and maintaining that loss, that’s when you’ll get a better understanding about nutrition, exercise and an all round healthy lifestyle.

MOVING HOUSE #1 | INTERIOR PLANS

The move that I've been eagerly anticipating since the beginning of February has finally happened, just yesterday. It's been a very long winded and tiring process but we are officially all moved in (ish). I've not been able to blog as much as I set out to, purely because (being the doughnut I am) I forgot that we had to wait for the wifi to be sorted at the new gaff. Luckily, through several attempts, I've found a way to avoid the wifi problem on the blogging front. Until that's finally sorted, I can go back to getting posts out regularly again.

AVOCADO SMASH BRUNCH RECIPE

Who doesn't like a nice bit of brunch? Poached eggs, crispy bacon, grilled mushrooms *drool*. As a lover of heading out for breakfast on weekends as well as cooking something up at home, I thought I'd feature one of my favourites recipes which is both a quick and easy breakfast dish - and it wont break the bank either. If you're a returning reader, you'll know I feature a raw recipe every fortnight, but this is the first - and probably not my last - savoury recipe. I've focused pretty heavily on baking over the past few months but my main aim has always been on keeping it as healthy and as raw as possible - which I will aim to do with everything savoury.

LOOK-BACK | MY APRIL IN PHOTOS

I'm finding it quite hard to believe that we're nearly into May already. Thankfully, the weather has been improving - slowly but surely - and I have had yet another busy month. To be honest, I feel each post in my look-back feature has been quite a busy one, but I'm definitely not complaining! It's not so much been on the social/leisure front this time, but there has been a drastic shift in my day-to-day routine with moving house and progressing career wise.

INSTAGRAM, WHAT THE HELL IS UP?

I promise this isn't just an excuse for me to dump my Instagram feed on you - it's actually far from it. Today's post is a controversial subject, but it's definitely a one that's been hot topic over the past few weeks or so. During these few weeks and months, I've seen tweets, vents in group chats and comments online discussing the changes to our beloved and favourite photo sharing app, Instagram.

10 QUICK PICK-ME-UP QUOTES

It's Monday tomorrow. The one day of the week with the worst reputation, you feel me? We all have our good days as well as our bad, but sometimes the first day of the week always feels like the hardest. For me, I hate the late Sunday sinking feeling of work the next day, but I'm sick of seeing negative tweets and posts on a Monday morning. Like, why would you want to start the week with such a negative outlook?

HOW I | LOOK AFTER MY SKIN

I am no beauty blogger, but as a lover/hoarder of make-up and skincare, I felt the need to share this new found miracle regime with you guys. I have been sticking to the same routine for my skin for a few months now and I have never seen my complexion this good. Now, if you like to do skincare on the cheap, then look away now. The products I am currently using aren't the cheapest - although they do last a long time so I would definitely recommend investing.

HOW TO | SURVIVE A LONELY LONG HAUL FLIGHT

In the past 21 years, I have been on more short and long haul flights than I could probably count. Saying this, I have only ever flown solo a handful of times. By living in the UK, it is so easy for us to visit some of Europe's best destinations in just a few hours, that even travelling to these cities can almost feel like a short car or train ride away from us. Travelling long haul on your lonesome however is another story, and a rather scary prospect.

EASTER SPECIAL RAW COOKIE RECIPE

I'm back with a recipe for my tid raw way feature, and this time its an Easter baking special. This particular cookie recipe isn't completely guilt-free like my previous ones, but I would still class this as a 'skinny' cookie. The main reason for the added calorific goodness is that I chucked a considerable amount of chocolate eggs into the mix because, well, it'd be rude not to at Easter.

WHY CHANGE IS HEALTHY

Am I right or am I right? I wish I could say I took this photo, but unfortunately I didn't. I just edited it to my style. But thanks to good ol' Tumblr for supplying the goods eh.

If you're new to my blog then hello and welcome! But if you're returning, then you may have already noticed my complete blog and header re-haul. I felt it was in desperate need of a little refresh and I am absolutely in love with the finished product. So, in the scheme of changing up things, today I'm talking about why change is one of the most important things for anyone to go through, whether its unexpected or a choice.

MY BATTLE WITH WEIGHT

Weight can too often be a no-go or sore subject for most of us. In my opinion, it really isn’t spoken of enough. I completely get that when you’re at your lowest or simply stuck in a rut with how you feel towards your body, talking or confiding in someone is probably last on your list of things to do. Though, however uncomfortable and upsetting it may seem, odds are the person understands exactly how you’re feeling. This was probably the most important thing that helped me get out of the situation I was in.

24 HOUR STOP-OVER IN LONDON

Anyone feel as though they'e been non-stop lately? I feel completely exhausted from the past few weeks that I'm even struggling to get out of bed in the morning. From Berlin, to work, to London, back to work and now I'm away at the fast approaching weekend too, I've never wanted to stay at home so much in my life. I've found it quite a challenge juggling my blog in the midst of all this, but I'm glad I've managed to keep up.

COSMO HOTEL BERLIN MITTE | REVIEW (INC. EXCLUSIVE PROMO!)*

"BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN THE HEART OF THE CITY WITH GREAT TRANSPORT LINKS AND REGIONAL DINING"
Something I get often is, "you stay in such gorgeous hotels, how do you find them?!" - Now, I am no millionaire, but my best advice would be to shop around and don't just settle for the first hotel that makes you say, "that looks.. nice". This is exactly what I did when organising my trip to Berlin, which brought me straight to COSMO, and thank god it did.

AFTERNOON TEA AT GRAND PACIFIC, MANCHESTER

So after my jam packed trip away, I thought it best to take another day off work, because - why not? Well in fact, I had booked yesterday off well in advance to take my best friend out to for her 22nd birthday. Once we had got the present unwrapping out of the way, we headed into Manchester for cocktails, a catch up and some savoury & sweet treats, in the classic form of Afternoon Tea.. but with a twist.

SKYKITCHEN, BERLIN | RESTAURANT REVIEW

'Hallo' from Berlin! Yes, I am in fact blogging on holiday and I'm not entirely sure how I've managed it. Besides the photo taking, eating and sightseeing, we have been on our feet non-stop for literally 14 hours a day. Considering we wanted to make the most of our time in Berlin, the place is just huge and way bigger than we ever anticipated. But we love it. It's such an exciting, trendy city that we have completely fallen in love with and I would urge anyone to make the trip out here.

SWEET POTATO BROWNIE RECIPE

It's the weekend, which means another day of baking and another delicious recipe is on the cards for my TID raw way feature. This time, I'm going for a baked-good variety that everyone enjoys, brownies, but obviously a healthy one. Using sweet potatoes in brownies may seem a little odd to you, but if you can get round the fact that you're putting veg with chocolate, this recipe is an absolute winner.

HOW TO | CREATE GREAT BLOGGING CONTENT

Morning guys! So today I thought I'd share with you a few things that I have grown to religiously stick to and swear by when writing and designing on my blog. Now, I'm fully aware that I'm no blogging expert/connoisseur, trust me. But since my readers and followers continue to grow, and since I have stuck to my resolution of blogging more this year, I find myself becoming more and more particular with what I post and what subjects I concentrate on.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-LOVE

Looking at this, well, you'll have probably gathered that I like the odd quote here and there. Quotes are great to look at when you're feeling down, lacking inspo or just scrolling through your phone. And I'm sure each of us have browsed through a selection at some point. The majority of quotes that we find seem to be completely and utterly relatable to our lives. Through relationships, motivation or our mood at the time, we underestimate the powerful and often uplifting effect they can have.

MY EXPERIENCE AT UNIVERSITY

Here's me and my other half looking super drunk, proud and happy for me to be graduating with a 2:1 in (BA) Advertising last summer (sob!). Now it may sound cliche, but University was one of the best decisions I ever made and I find myself constantly missing the lifestyle and people now I'm back at home. Academically, it required a lot more hard work, sweat, tears and days in the library than I ever anticipated. And I'll be honest, I definitely didn't work to my best ability during the first two years I was at Northumbria. Though I knew my final year would determine what would be written on that scroll and my CV for life.

Hey lovelies! So I know many bloggers out there enjoy reflecting back on the month to showcase what they've been up to and their personal highlights. 6 STRUGGLES ONLY BRUNETTES WILL UNDERSTAND

One of the things I love most is being a brunette. In fact, I don't think I would have it or will have it any other way. I think this is partly down to the fact that I'd look god awful ridiculous as a blonde, but also, who could really be arsed with the up-keep of root maintenance! With the numerous 'studies' that show brunettes have more intellect, and blondes have more fun, yet, do we all seriously believe that? I doubt these people really know the daily struggles we all go through with such different varieties of long, short, curly, frizzy, damaged or dry hair. In my opinion, it's all just a load of nonsense to further force a divide between us girls, but there will always be pro's and con's whatever your hair colour.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA

I saw this quote the other day which really encouraged me to write this post. Now, I may go a little off blogger and a little back to my uni days with this, but I feel it's such an important subject that I can hopefully get across well on my blog. With my job being just that, I spend the majority of my day-to-day hours online. But how could I not love what I do! When I saw this quote, it really hit home, and I think it stands for a lot and is relatable to everyone at some point. There are a ton of negative associations within social media that we all seem to overlook. Sure, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snap are all amazing ways to stay in touch with people from all them many years ago that you would have otherwise lost contact with. But seriously, aren't we just using that for an excuse to be nosy? Do we really have 5,000 'friends'? And do we really understand how much we rely on social media?

RAW NUT BROWNIE ENERGY BALLS RECIPE

Happy Sunday guys! So since I mentioned that I've been experimenting with raw recipes, I thought it was about time I introduced a regular feature to my blog, and what better to start with than the way to all our hearts, food

'TID RAW WAY', short for TheIndefiniteDiaries Raw Way (but you knew that), will be a fortnightly feature to fill your weekend baking desires. All recipes will be made by me, from scratch, with ease, on a budget and all really healthy, balanced and using 80% (ish) raw ingredients when it comes to desserts! Most recipes will be adaptable to your individual taste, so I will aim to make notes where you could add or replace similar ingredients if you're not keen on the odd bits and bobs.
